PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carrier for electrostatic charge development capable of preventing charging amount from being changed satisfactorily when compared with a carrier specifying strontium content of ferrite particles and BET specific surface area not to a specific range and not using a resin having cycloalkyl group as a resin used for a coating layer.SOLUTION: This carrier for electrostatic charge development includes ferrite particles containing 0.1 wt.% or more and 1.0 wt.% or less of strontium and having 0.13 m/g or more and 0.23 m/g or less of BET specific surface area, and a coating layer covering the ferrite particles and containing the resin having cycloalkyl group.
