The invention refers to a process for manufacturing artificial stone using a mixture of different percentages of cement, water, pumice stone milled in large grains and pumice stone in powder, as well as the use of polymeric and/or metallic fibers for reinforcing the structure against possible cracks of the piece by a violent dehydration when exposed to the sun. The final product is an artificial stone which is 60% lighter than other pieces intended to solve the problem with other materials. The piece is more ductile due to the polymeric and/or metallic fibers and may be manufactured in different colors as they are compatible with mineral colors.
