The invention relates to a device for the comparative calibration of thermometers using a homogeneously temperature-controlled solid in the form of a calibration block, which encloses the usage thermometers to be calibrated, at least one reference thermometer, and thermometrically traceable fixed-point cells. Essential features of the invention relate to measures for homogenizing the temperature field within the calibration block using heat flux sensors and multi-zone heaters. The invention further relates to methods for calibrating thermometers by means of said device.
