The invention relates to a method for preparing mechanically structured mother-of-pearl by mechanosynthesis of micrometric mother-of-pearl powder, characterised in that the temperature of the mother-of-pearl is maintained lower than 40°C. The invention also relates to the mechanically structured mother-of-pearl and to the applications thereof, especially to implants and replacement osseous parts on which the mechanically structured mother-of-pearl is deposited.
