The process comprises the following steps: - creation of a pressurized gas stream having a controlled flow rate and a given temperature; and - injection into the pressurized gas stream of a metered flow rate of a liquid composition comprising at least one liquid essential oil; the flow rate of the gas stream and the flow rate of the liquid composition being controlled such that the gas stream after injection has an essential oil partial vapour pressure which is at least 20% lower than the essential oil vapour saturation pressure at the temperature of the gas stream.
