The present invention relates to a polarizer for terahertz waves which can polarize the terahertz waves and, more specifically, to a terahertz-wave polarizer using extraordinary optical transmission (EOT). The terahertz-wave polarizer using extraordinary optical transmission, according to the present invention, comprises: a polymer substrate; and a plurality of line-shaped metal patterns which are buried in the polymer substrate, and which are repeatedly formed at certain intervals that are smaller than the wavelength of the waves. Since the terahertz-wave polarizer using extraordinary optical transmission, according to the present invention, uses the extraordinary optical transmission, it is possible to improve transmittance, an extinction ratio, and the degree of polarization. Additionally, since a transparent and flexible polymer substrate is employed, the terahertz-wave polarizer is highly flexible. The terahertz-wave polarizer using the extraordinary optical transmission, according to the present invention, can be applied to a terahertz-wave spectrometer with high performance or to an optical component for controlling a polarization direction of the terahertz waves.
