The present invention relates to a novel anti-fungal peptide PG-2 derived from Gogu Valley potato, and to a use thereof. More specifically the novel peptide of the present invention, which is isolated from the Gogu Valley potato (Solanum tuberosum L cv. Gogu Valley) and has the amino acid sequence written down as sequence number 1, exhibits marked anti-bacterial and anti-fungal effects and is not cytotoxic and thus can advantageously be used as an anti-bacterial or anti-fungal pharmaceutical composition, cosmetic composition, agrichemical, food preservative, cosmetic preserving agent and drug preserving agent.
