Provided are: a functional substance which has high permeability into a living body and, therefore, is capable of efficiently supplying a bioactive molecule into a part such as the brain of the living body; and a method for penetrating a bioactivating agent that contains the functional substance and the functional substance into a living body.The functional substance (1) has a structure wherein a bioactive molecule (4) is bonded to an amphiphilic site (23) that is formed through the bonding of a hydrophilic site (3) and a hydrophobic site (2). In this structure, a bond (7) between the hydrophilic site (3) and the hydrophobic site (2) and a bond (8) between the amphiphilic site (23) and the bioactive molecule (4) are both formed so as to be cleavable by hydrolysis.
