A battery state-of-charge detection device (10) comprises a voltage detection unit (15), a current detection unit (13), and a control unit (17). The control unit (17) is configured so as to perform the processes of: (a) detecting the current voltage of a storage battery at the start of charging the storage battery; (b) obtaining the storage amount (initial storage amount) corresponding to the current voltage by using a correlation table representing the relationship between voltages and storage amounts corresponding to the voltages; (c) obtaining the storage amount (measured storage amount) stored in the storage battery by this charging; and (d) calculating the total storage amount of the storage battery by adding the initial storage amount and the measured storage amount.
