Disclosed is an augmented reality method based on a two-dimensional code, comprising: by using a two-dimensional code as a recognition and positioning identifier in an augmented reality system, decoding the two-dimensional code in a real scene image and performing recoding to directly generate a two-dimensional code front view same as the real scene image, performing tracing matching between the generated two-dimensional code front view and the two-dimensional code image in the scene image, and calculating a homography matrix. Correspondingly, also disclosed are an augmented reality system and mobile terminal based on a two-dimensional code. In this way, the limitation that tracing matching can be performed by necessarily pre-storing the corresponding sample image in a database in the traditional augmented reality application is broken, and the step of performing querying and matching according to the template of the remote server during use of the traditional marker is saved, thereby reducing the system response delay caused due to the network transmission problem, and saving the network communication traffic for the user.
