Provided are a manless standalone microgrid system, which automatically controls a start-up of diesel generator according to a charged state of a power storage device, properly manages the charged state of the power storage device, reduces the probability of malfunctions, and enables a power converter and the diesel generator to be operated in parallel, and a control method of the manless standalone microgrid system. The manless standalone microgrid system relates to a microgrid system having a new regeneration energy generator and a power converter. The power converter is commonly coupled with the diesel generator via an alternating current (AC) mother line, and with the new regeneration energy generator via a direct current (DC) current mother line or the AC mother line. The power converter operates in a bidirectional manner, that is, converts DC power to AC power or vice versa. Furthermore, the power converter converts DC power to AC power or vice versa according to whether remaining power exists on the DC mother line or the AC mother line.
