Apparatus and method of winding power cable of molten steel ladle car for lengthening life cycle of the cable

An apparatus and a method for winding a cable for extending a lifespan of a power cable of a ladle care are provided to prevent the power cable from being pressed by a wheel. A cable winding apparatus includes a cable winding drum(25), a winding motor(26), and a controller(28). The cable winding drum is arranged separately from the ladle car along a rail and winds the power cable. The winding motor is separated from the ladle care and rotates the winding drum. The controller controls the rotation direction and the rotation speed of the winding motor to make the power cable float between the ladle car and the winding drum based on the progressing direction and speed of the ladle car.
