The present invention relates to a method for selecting a transgenic cymbidium plant in an economical and efficient way for the future. According to the present invention, an equivalent effect of selecting is achieved by replacing high cost phosphinothricin (PPT), which is frequently used in a selection process essential for a preparation of a transgenic cymbidium plant having herbicide resistance using a gene gun method or agrobacterium, with a basta herbicide solution which is inexpensive and easily obtainable, wherein the basta herbicide solution is added to selection medium after filter sterilization.
