1. Three-cylinder in-line reciprocating reciprocating internal combustion engine containing two external primary cylinders and one secondary cylinder located between two external primary cylinders, where each of the cylinders is a sliding support for the corresponding piston, functionally connected by a corresponding connecting rod to the corresponding elbow of the three-knee cranked shaft with cranks located in the same plane, and the elbows for the two primary cylinders are in phase o, and the elbow for the secondary cylinder is phase-shifted relative to the two primary cylinders by 180 degrees, and the secondary cylinder can be selectively deactivated. 2. The engine of claim 1, wherein the secondary cylinder can be deactivated to increase fuel economy. The engine according to claim 1 or 2, wherein the secondary cylinder can be deactivated to increase at least one of the following: temperature of exhaust gases, lubricating oil and coolant in the engine.
