The charging system has a stationary charging station that is attached to motor car. The stationary electrical winding (L2) is provided with coupling device and an on-board battery charger (1) with a vehicle electrical winding (L1). The stationary charging station is provided with a wake-up circuitry (3) so that the charging station is switched from a quiescent state into an operational state through the vehicle battery charging unit.
