The method involves operating actuator of clutch in response to a manipulated variable which is formed based on first function describing the clutch transmittable torque in dependence of the manipulated variable. The first function is formed by the integration of a second function describing the dependence of increase of the clutch transmittable torque with respect to manipulated variable.
