The protection device has a fire fighting device with a container (4) which is filled with an extinguishing agent. The container is paired with a body of a motor vehicle or an airplane or with a building wall or ceiling, where an outlet device (8) is closed by a temperature-controlled valve (5). A temperature-resistant tank is fluidically connected to an air conditioner, in which a negative pressure exists to receive a coolant of the air conditioner. The temperature-resistant tank is paired with another temperature-controlled valve to open a flow channel for the coolant.
