The valve train has a ball thrust piece (6) arranged as a latch unit and mounted in a cylinder head (Z) of a combustion engine, where the ball thrust piece slides a helical compression spring in a direction of a camshaft (1). A spherical end (7) of the ball thrust piece is slidably mounted in a slideway (5) that is formed in the cylinder head. The spherical end is co-acted with a locking adjustable socket (3) over a locking lath (9) that is arranged axially parallel to the camshaft, where the adjustable socket is slidably connected to a cam sliding piece (2).
