The method involves providing a loading station (2) with a rectifier (24), an interface (16), a switching system (20) and an energy store (30). The switching system is connected with an electric car (4) through the interface. The rectifier on the alternating current (AC) side, is connected with the supply network (10) of the household (6) for charging the energy store through the switching system. The rectifier is disconnected from the supply network by the switching system when the electric car is charged through the interface. An independent claim is included for a loading station.
