The method involves determining a node coordinate map grip (N) for a predetermined country surface. A vegetation type is determined from a predetermined amount of vegetation types dependent on a node attribute for a respective lattice node (K) of the node coordinate map grid for a predetermined vegetation layer. Pixel values for one or multiple portions of pixels of the orthoimages are determined dependently from the determined vegetation type. A predetermined pictorial material is assigned to an amount of vegetation types suitable to the respective vegetation type pictorial. An independent claim is also included for a device for determining artificial orthoimages.
