The device has a suction element (12) for receiving dust from a machining area of a hand-held power tool i.e. chisel hammer (10), where the suction element is arranged in a mounted state on a side next to an insert tool of the chisel hammer. The suction element encloses the insert tool in an angular range of 180 degrees, where the suction element is partially made of elastomer. A setting unit (18) is provided for setting a position of the suction element in the mounted state at the chisel hammer. The setting unit includes a guide element (20) to guide sucked off dust.
