The internal combustion engine comprises a motor housing portion (10) such as a cylinder crankcase, a crank case and/or cylinder housing. The motor housing portion is provided with the temperature-controlled channels (22,24) for guiding the exhaust gas for heating the motor housing portion. The waste gas is flowed through an exhaust tube that is fluidly connected with the temperature-controlled channels. A valve device is adjusted between an open position and a closing position for releasing and blocking the exhaust gas from the temperature-controlled channels.
