The invention relates to balancing weights for wheels, preferably motor vehicle wheels. The object of the invention is to standardize contours and volumes of balancing weights with different masses and thus to eliminate the disadvantage that the geometry and in particular the length of balancing weights are different depending on their mass. The object is achieved with a set of weights with at least two balancing weights. Each balancing weight contains a carrier material and a predeterminable outer contour and a predefinable mass. All balancing weights have the same outer contour and at least two of the balancing weights have different masses such that the respective density of the carrier material is selected on the basis of the volume delimited by the outer contour such that the respective balancing weight has the respective mass. In a method for producing a balancing weight, the density of the carrier material is selected accordingly above. In a method for producing a set of weights, the same outer contour is specified for all balancing weights and different masses are specified for at least two of the balancing weights.
