PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for presenting quantitative (objective) indexes with respect to the significance of data elements of discrimination data in a self-organization map capable of discriminating between a first type and a second type.;SOLUTION: A significance calculation device is at least a device for calculating the significance of data elements of discrimination data in a self-organization map capable of discriminating between a first type and a second type. The self-organization map is composed of sets of nodes having discrimination data of n-dimensional vectors (where n is a natural number) comprising n elements. The significance calculation device is provided with a control unit for calculating the significance of each element of discrimination data. The control unit determines the average value of the discrimination data for each element with respect to the first type (S15), determines the average value of the discrimination data for each element with respect to the second type (S14), and calculates for each element the difference between the average value determined with respect to the first type and the average value determined with respect to the second type to calculate the significance (S16).;COPYRIGHT: (C)2015,JPO&INPIT
