PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a muon track detector and a muon track detection method capable of realizing stable operation under high radiation environment.;SOLUTION: A muon track detector 10 includes: a drift tube detector 12 which arranges drift tubes 11 for outputting an electrical signal when detecting passing of cosmic ray muons, the drift tubes 11 being disposed into at least three layers; drift-tube selection means 15 for selecting the drift tubes 11 placed on a line from among the drift tubes 11 outputting the electrical signal within certain time; passing-position calculation means 19 for calculating passing positions of the cosmic ray muons in the respective selected drift tubes 11 on the basis of rise time of the electrical signal corresponding to each of the selected drift tubes 11; and muon-track derivation means 20 for deriving a flight track of the cosmic ray muons using the calculated passing positions.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2015,JPO&INPIT
