PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a frictional resistance alleviating apparatus for a ship which prevents sticking of marine creatures thereto, and a method of preventing marine creatures from sticking to the frictional resistance alleviating apparatus for the ship.SOLUTION: The frictional resistance alleviating apparatus 20 for the ship includes an air jetting device 30, an air recovery device 40, and a marine creature sticking preventing device 80. The air jetting device 30 jets air through air blowouts 31 to 33 formed on a submerged portion 13 of a hull 10 into water. The air recovery device 40 recovers air through air recovery ports 41 to 43 formed on a ship bottom 13 of the hull 10 and sends the recovered air into the hull 10. The marine creature sticking preventing device 80 supplies a marine creature sticking preventing liquid into the air recovery device 40.
