PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a location confirmation method in which the possibility of an erroneous operation is low.SOLUTION: A location confirmation method includes: a position information acquisition step that after the action pattern of a monitored person who carries a portable information terminal to be monitored is set, the portable information terminal to be monitored acquires the position information of the portable information terminal in a cycle included in a setting item in a time zone included in the setting item of the action pattern; a determination step that whether or not the portable information terminal to be monitored has deviated from a route or area included in the setting item on the basis of the position information and positioning accuracy in the case of acquiring the position information; and a report step that when it is determined that the portable information terminal to be monitored has deviated from the route or area included in the setting item, a report is made with at least one of a voice or a video. A threshold to be used for determination in the determination step varies according to the positioning accuracy.
