PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for managing patients waiting for an examination, which determines the examination order of the patient waiting for the examination when there is a patient for reexamination, and a method for managing the patients waiting for the examination.SOLUTION: The device for managing the patients waiting for the examination includes: an inspection information storage part for storing patient information for which an inspection is already accepted and the time information of the start and end of the inspection; an examination information storage part for storing patient information for which the examination is already accepted, the time information of the start and end of the examination and reexamination necessity information; an inspection return time acquisition part for acquiring information about the number of persons waiting for the inspection and the average inspection time of already inspected patients on the basis of the patient information of the inspection and the time information of the start and end, and acquiring the information of the inspection return time by the number of persons waiting for the inspection and the average inspection time when the reexamination necessity information indicates the need; and an examination order determination part for acquiring the average examination time of already examined patients by the time information of the start and end of the examination, acquiring the information of the examination start time of the patient waiting for the examination using the average examination time, and determining the examination order.
