PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a displacer recovery device for displacer-type liquid level gauge, capable of readily recovering a sunk displacer, when a length-measuring wire is cut. PSOLUTION: The displacer recovery device includes a guide pipe 13 attached to a storage tank; a basket-housing section 21, disposed on the lower end side of the guide pipe 13 of the liquid level gauge having the displacer 12 attached to the length measuring wire 11 of a balance driver, the basket-housing section 21 housing a recovering basket 22 therein; a basket holder 24, attached to the length measuring wire 11 and holding or releasing the recovering basket 22; and an extension section 23 being extended and tilted toward an opening in the recovering basket 22 from outward to inward directions. The basket holder 24 contains an arm 27; engaging claws 29 rotatably attached to the arm 27 and is set engageable with the extension section 23; and a stopper 28 for making the rotation stop, with the engaging claws 29 engaged with the extension section 23.
