In the present invention, there is described a method of reducing rate of heat liberation in the course of hydration of aluminate cement and influencing time of its workability by prolongation of induction period through the addition of strontium-aluminate cement in an amount in the range of 5 to 20 percent by weight in a mixture with the aluminate cement. The efficiency increases with the amount of the added strontium-aluminate cement so that the effect of the strontium-aluminate cement can be easily controlled. The distribution of the heat liberation intensity over a longer time interval makes it possible to prevent overheating the concrete structures. Due to the fact that total liberated heat remains unvaried at constant temperature, only it is liberated during a longer time horizon, no negative influence on the binding agent properties occurs due to the addition of the strontium-aluminate cement.
