The method for fastening a getter to a construction component of a vacuum interrupter (1) by copper, comprises subsequently welding the getter on composite material formed by an intermediate layer, which is producible by platinizing, galvanizing or sputtering, and applying the getter material of the getter on a carrier from a metal strip. A surface of the construction component intended for fastening the getter is provided as support for the getter with the intermediate layer from an electrically and thermally bad-conducting metal. The welding process for fastening is carried out by spot-welding, laser welding, electron beam welding, resistance welding and/or ultrasonic welding. The intermediate layer of the construction components is constructed with a coating thickness of 0.1 mm. The metal strip is produced from nickel-plated sheet iron. An independent claim is included for vacuum interrupter with a construction component.
