A method for the determination of traffic direction intensity at signal controlled intersection is based on conical step scanning of all intersection approaches and exits by three high-directivity laser beams of infrared band simultaneously, this makes it possible to form inlet and outlet boundaries of controlled zones and provide the determination of complex of parameters of traffic flow by each traffic lane, main and intermediate timing periods, cycle, traffic direction intensity level depending on scanning results. The method is realized by means of one device arranged at intersection zone which enables if necessary to determine a set of other parameters of traffic flow.
