PROCESS OF PREPARING ALKALOID EXTRACT OF GARDENIA JASMINOIDES LINN. WITH SPASMOLYTIC ACTIVITY

The present utility model is a novel process of preparing alkaloid extract Gardenia jasminoides linn which found to have spasmolytic agent. Different doses of alkaloid extract of Gardenia jasminoides linn. (125mg/kg and 250mg/kg) were administered to experimental albino rats. It was observed that there as a decrease in the contraction in the intestine of the albino rats. The decrease in the gastrointestinal contraction of the albino rats therefore is a determinant of the anti-spasmodic effect of the product of the present utility model.
