Procedure and heat removal system of a nuclear reactor containment in alternative boiling water

A method and system for cooling the suppression pool of a nuclear boiling water reactor (BWR). The system includes a cooling coil in the isolation condenser located at an elevation that is above the suppression pool. The isolation condenser is connected to the suppression pool through inlet and outlet tubes. The method may provide a natural convection flow of fluids between the suppression pool and the coils for cooling passively fluid suppression pool without external power.
