METHOD FOR SCALABLE LIVE STREAMING DELIVERY FOR MOBILE AUDIENCES

A live streaming system/method provides cross platform live streamingcapabilities to mobile devices. A fileformat compatible with legacy HTTP infrastructure is used to deliver mediaover a persistent connection. Legacy client media playerscan dynamically change the encoded rate of the media delivered over apersistent connection. Standard HTTP servers may be usedwithout modification, leveraging standard media players embedded in mobiledevices for seamless media delivery over wirelessnetworks with high bandwidth fluctuations.
