According to an international phone call service system and service providing method using a network of a remote country and a remote phone number, which are proposed by the present invention, a gate device, in which a SIM card having communication network subscription information of a remote country stored therein is inserted, is located in the remote country. The gate device receives a call request forwarded to a remote phone number and transfers the call request to a local portable terminal through an Internet network. Thus, a call forwarded to a remote phone number can be received to allow communication, using a local portable terminal in the local country. Further, when the local portable terminal makes a call to a recipient, the gate device receives the call request and transfers the call request to the recipient terminal using a remote network, thereby enabling the local portable terminal to communicate with the remote recipient through the remote phone number using the local portable terminal.
