The invention relates to a logistics system (1) for transferring separated freight items, in particular single articles or packages, between a freight-item stream and a load carrier, having a transporting device (3) for supplying a freight-item stream (6), having a store (7) for the buffer-storage of freight items (5, 5') transferred out of the freight-item stream (6), and having a loading device (15) for loading a load carrier with the freight items (5, 5') transferred out of the freight-item stream (6) or buffer-stored in the store (7), wherein the dimensions of the load carrier are adapted to the loading surface area of a vehicle. In particular the system has a collecting device (9), which has an accommodating means (11) and is intended for receiving freight items (5, 5') from the freight-item stream (6) and for lining them up in a row in the accommodating means (11), for transferring the lined-up freight items (5, 5') to the loading device (15) for the load carrier, or to the store (7), and for removing the lined-up freight items from the store (7).
