FACIAL IMPRESSION ESTIMATION METHOD, DEVICE, AND PROGRAM

To estimate extremes of impressions of persons with good precision, an impression estimation method which estimates an impression of a person who appears in image data comprises: an extraction step of extracting a facial image from image data; a computation step of computing a facial feature vector from the facial image; and an estimation step of modeling a relation of impression levels between two samples by Ranking Least Square Probabilistic Classifiers of a plurality of classes, and scoring on the basis of a degree of confidence of each class which is obtained by sequential comparison, by the Ranking Least Square Probabilistic Classifiers of the plurality of classes, of test data wherein the facial image vector is the explanatory variable and a plurality of instances of base data for comparison which have already been obtained from training data, thereby estimating the impression of the person.
