The invention relates to a connecting layer (10) for improving the thermal contact of two components arranged against each other, wherein the connecting layer (10) is made of a thermally conductive solid material and has a substantially flat basic shape having a basic height (16) and a top side (22) and a bottom side (24). The connecting layer (10) comprises a plurality of deformation elements (12), wherein the deformation elements (12) protrude from the basic shape of the connecting layer (10) and have a starting height (14) that overtops the basic height (16) and elastic deformability. The invention further relates to a battery having said connecting layer and to a motor vehicle having said battery.
