An aqueous inorganic zinc-rich primer and preparation method thereof, the primer comprising the following components in parts by weight: 13 parts potassium silicate, 4 parts silica sol, 6 parts deionized water, 1 part coagent, 70 parts zinc dust, and 6 parts flexible emulsion; the steps of preparation method comprises weighing, premixing, adjusting viscosity, filtrating and packaging and storage. The aqueous inorganic zinc-rich primer having flexible emulsion improves paint adhesion, and provides cathodic protection, passivation film and self-sealing on the surface of iron and steel.
