The invention relates to an insert element for shoes for securing the position of the wearer's foot in an item of footwear (1), consisting of a base with an underside, a profiled upper side, a heel area (8) formed with respect to the rear of the foot, and a forefoot area (6) formed with respect to the front of the foot, characterised in that the base is constructed from two wing sections (4) and in that the profile is at least partially initially flat on the upper side of the base starting from the heel area (8) and increases in height profile towards the middle (5) of the wing of the wing sections (4). The invention further relates to a shoe, more particularly a woman's shoe with a high heel, which is fitted with the insert element according to the invention.
