The present invention relates to a device and a method for automatic fault management of a distribution system. The technical objective of the present invention is to provide a device and a method for automatic fault management of a distribution system connected with a distributed generator which can reduce the error possibility of fault generation information due to a wiring automation terminal device, reduce section load processing error possibility and fault recovery solution deriving error possibility in consideration of the influence of a section load diversity factor and a distributed generator, and reduce error possibility during a fault recovery sequence in consideration of the state of a switch. To this end, the device for automatic fault management of a distribution system connected with a distributed generator comprises: a fault generation information filtering unit to filter and remove error fault generation information from the fault generation information of a distribution line received from a plurality of distribution automation terminal devices; a fault section determination unit to determine a fault section using the fault generation information left after filtering; a fault recovery solution deriving unit to derive a fault recovery solution for the fault section; and an operation exception processing unit to process an operation exception in the fault recovery solution.
