The present invention relates to a method for diagnosing melanoma which is a skin cancer and, more particularly, to a method for diagnosing melanoma by obtaining a skin image by various light sources of an infrared ray, a visible ray, and an ultraviolet ray through a camera and performing the fractal dimension analysis, the boundary detection, and the color element analysis of the obtained image. Like this, the feature of the present invention is to include the light source, a light detection device for obtaining an optical image, and a pattern implementation and fractal dimension analysis program about the obtained optical image. The light source of various wavelengths like the visible ray, the infrared ray, the ultraviolet ray is used as the light source. The light detection device is used by corresponding to the wavelength band in the light source. The performance of the light detection device is improved by using a band pass filter at need.
