The present invention relates to a composition for cryopreserving pig sperm comprising astaxanthin or curcumin derived from microalgae which is a kind of an antioxidant, added to the conventionally used cryopreserving agent, and to a method for cryopreserving pig sperm, comprising a step of treating the pig sperm with the composition and cryopreserving the same. If the composition for cryopreserving the pig sperm is used, the present invention can minimize damage to the pig sperm during cryopreserving the pig sperm of an excellent breed, and can be widely used in improving a better breed of pig.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2015
