The present invention is to manufacture an iron-copper wire or a rod with a diameter of 0.01-2 mm formed of 3-30 wt% of iron and 70-97 wt% of copper by casting a billet with an iron-copper alloy or a cold-rolled steel sheet containing 0.2% or less of carbon and a molten metal of copper, thermally treating the billet, and then drawing the billet with a continuous wire drawing machine such that 90% or greater of a gross sectional area can be reduced. According to the present invention, the iron-copper wire or rod can control malfunctions caused by noise in a circuit of a precision machine, robots, vehicles, and others and can reduce the noise of cellular phones by shielding electromagnetic waves of 80 dB or greater in a high frequency area of 1-1.5 GHz to have excellent electromagnetic wave shielding effect; thereby being widely applied to an electromagnetic wave shielding material.
