METHOD OF ICE COVER THICKNESS DETERMINATION DURING MODELS TESTING OF SHIPS AND OFFSHORE ENGINEERING STRUCTURES IN ICE TEST BASIN AND DEVICE FOR ITS IMPLEMENTATION

FIELD: instrumentation.;SUBSTANCE: method is suggested to determine ice cover thickness during models testing of ships and offshore engineering structures in ice test basin comprising sounding of the ice field by the ultrasound pulses with further reflected pulses transformation in voltage on the electronic device and registration of the measurement results; at that under bottom surface of the ice field at the studied area the flat rigid screen is installed, it is pressed to bottom surface of the ice field, it reflects the ice field sounding ultrasound pulses. Besides, a device for implementation of the above method is presented.;EFFECT: increased authenticity and accuracy of the test results relating the ice field thickness determination.;3 cl, 1 dwg
