FIELD: ecology.;SUBSTANCE: method comprises selection of accounting birch trees in city public garden of prolate form. On each elongated side of the public garden at least five accounting birch trees are selected. On four cardinal directions on the accounting birch trees the hanging shortened branches with leaves with a fluctuating asymmetry are determined. The height from the middle of the vertically hanging shortened branch to the soil surface is measured, as well as the distance from this branch to the auto-road and the perimeter of trunk of each accounting birch tree at a height of 1.5 m from the soil surface. Statistical modelling is carried out with creation of statistical models on each of the measured parameters with determining of the correlation coefficient. The comparative assessment of the area condition on the sides of the city public garden is carried out in relation to correlation coefficients obtained on two sides of the city public garden.;EFFECT: accuracy of assessment of the ecological condition of the area on the sides of the city public garden.;2 cl, 8 dwg
