FIELD: chemistry.;SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, in particular to ophthalmic surgery, and can be used for reinforcement of sclera collagen in case of progressive myopia. For this purpose method of surgical treatment of progressive myopia includes realisation of four layer-by-layer cuts of conjunctiva and Tenon's membrane, formation of recesses between episclera and Tenon's membrane meridionally towards posterior eye pole in upper outer, upper inner, lower outer and lower inner sectors. In order to reinforce posterior eye pole saturation of sclera with 0.25% solution of riboflavin is performed. For this purpose polymer tubes with dimensions 20×6×2 mm are placed in each of four recesses, 0.25% solution of riboflavin is introduced in portions within 20 minutes. After that, ultraviolet radiators in form of four spherically curved strips with dimensions 7×32 mm, located at angle 90° are introduced into recesses. Irradiation of sclera is carried out with wavelength 375 nm and power 3 mW/cm2 for 30 minutes, with introduction of 0.25% riboflavin solution every 5 minutes during irradiation.;EFFECT: method provides reinforcement of biomechanical properties of sclera due to performance of ultraviolet cross-linking of sclera collagen.;1 ex
