A rail-bound tank wagon has a tank (1) with a dome (2) mounted in an upper area of the tank and a rollover guard protecting the dome. The rollover protection is formed by a bending and torsion-resistant protective frame (3), which is arranged around the dome and fastened by flat connections at a distance from the dome on the tank. The protective frame advantageously has two longitudinal sections, two transverse sections and four diagonal sections which connect the longitudinal sections and the transverse sections. The longitudinal sections and the transverse sections are fastened to saddle strips (12) which are fastened to the tank via the flat connections. The protective frame is formed with the exception of an access (4) to the dome (2) as a hollow profile body with a closed cross-section.
