A three-phase rectifier, the rectifier having a plurality of inputs (12, 14, 15) for connection to a respective mains phase, a plurality of inductors (34, 35, 36) and a plurality of switches (5), each of the inputs comprising at least one of the inductors (34, 35, 36) and one of the switches (5) is associated, characterized in that the rectifier has at least one bypass switch (2, 39) per input (12, 14, 45).
